Stanton Middle School Drop-Off and Pick-Up Procedures

Dear Parents and Families,

Welcome back! We are so excited to begin the new school year.

Based on your feedback, we are implementing a few updates to improve traffic flow during drop-off and pick-up. Our priority is to make this process faster for families while ensuring our students stay safe.

Key Details for Start of School:

  • First Day: Wednesday, August 19

  • Building Doors Open: 7:00 a.m. (Students entering before 7:00 a.m. should report to the auditeria/auditeria hallway; breakfast is available)

  • Homeroom Begins: 7:30 a.m.

  • Drop-off Entrance: Side event doors

Please review the updated procedures below:

Morning Drop-Off

  • Sidewalk Drop-Off Only: Please only drop off your students when stopped along the designated sidewalk. For everyone's safety, do not drop students off in parking lot spaces or create separate lanes, as this forces students to navigate through moving vehicles.

  • Pull All the Way Forward: To expedite the process, please pull around the circle to the light pole. The light pole around the circle and the side gym doors will be our “drop off zone”. We will have cones in the drop-off zone area the first few days until we get used to it. This step will help move the line along.  

  • Be Ready to Go: Please remind your student(s) to have their belongings gathered and ready to exit the vehicle as soon as you stop.

  • Plan Ahead: Please note that traffic is at its heaviest between 7:10 AM and 7:20 AM.

Afternoon Pick-Up

  • Dismissal Time: Car riders and walkers will be dismissed at 2:35 PM.

  • NEW! Where to Park: Parents should park in the open spaces in the back lot, specifically those closest to Hudson Rd. (Note: Staff will now be parking in the spaces closest to the gym and the back lot sections closest to Roosevelt Drive).

  • The Process: Students will be directed to go straight to your parked vehicle.

  • Keep it Moving: Once your student is safely in your car, please leave the lot as quickly as possible to free up space for other parents.

Our plan is to have most car riders safely on their way before the buses are dismissed. Thank you so much for your patience and cooperation as we roll out these new routines.
